The college is seeking a professor for a full-time poste within the Graphic & Web Design program in the fall 2019 and winter 2020 terms.

FALL 2019
412-G10-HR Graphic Design I
(90 hours)
This first graphic design course introduces the design process where students research, sketch and develop solutions to design problems. This course introduces page layout software, such as Adobe InDesign, and all related concepts, such as the elements and principles of design and typography, used in creating professional publications such as magazine ads, posters and stationery.

412-G30-HR Graphic Design III (75 hours)
This course focuses on designing, editing and producing creative solutions for real-world projects such as book jackets, restaurant menus, and catalogues. Students will develop style guides for consistent design and best practices for publication. Project will be designed for both print and electronic media.

412-B40-HR Digital Marketing and Branding (60 hours)
In today's marketplace the ability to navigate and manage Social Media is a key skill. In this course, students will learn the strategic business use of social media for marketing. Topics covered include a basic overview of the principles of branding and marketing, an introduction to the strengths, weaknesses and basic functionality of the major social networks and platforms, effective content creation, community management, and how to design and evaluate a social media campaign.

412-C09-HR Manuals and Forms (60 hours)
This course focuses on the design, creation and production of training manuals and forms for the Web and for print from the initial request to the final product.  

412-C28-HR Print Design IV (45 hours)
This course requires students to enhance and supplement their personal print-based portfolios. Students will learn professional portfolio presentation techniques.

412-G20-HR Graphic Design II - Advanced Design and Layout (75 hours)
This course further develops the skills acquired in the first graphic design course and focuses on advanced page layout and design techniques. Students will explore typography, the use of grid systems for layout and spreadsheets for data visualization. The focus will be on designing and producing projects such as personal stationery and more complex publications such as brochures and newsletters.

412-G40-HR Graphic Design IV: Multipage Publication Design (75 hours)
Students will refine their design and typography skill as they design long multi-page documents such as instruction manuals, playbills and corporate annual reports in both print and adapting for electronic publications of different resolutions, dimensions and proportions. Emphasis will be placed on developing strong, innovative design solutions that meet the client's needs, attention to detail and consistent design.


In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork;  teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation;  support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities.  May also include departmental coordination; program committee coordination; special support and supervision activities; participation in program activities; program development; implementation and evaluation; and institutional development.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Graphic and Web Design, NewMedia or in another related field.  Several years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or college level is preferred.  Fluency in English, both oral and written is required.  Knowledge of software as per program requirements is necessary.
